We Improve Tomorrow

We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have an education. Often due to the cultures in which we are raised, however, we sometimes forget that education is a privilege, not an entitlement. We Improve Tomorrow serves people who understand this-- many families are forced to choose between paying for their children to attend school, and paying for basic needs like food and clothing.

WIT provides families a way for their children to earn educational opportunities through academic performance.

We believe that education is a foundation upon which communities can advance their societies by improving local health and promoting economic development. Education facilitates skill acquisition by increasing readiness to learn new techniques that are required to change one's condition. The result is a more equitable and educated society. Local communities gain self-respect and become more responsible for their own improvement.

Education is the key to prosperity in Guatemala where large families live on small subsistence farms. The average man works in agriculture and earns approximately $3.00 a day. School is out of reach for many children because the $50 annual school fee per child is too much for many families. Consequently, education is increasingly becoming an elite privilege and less accessible to most citizens, thus perpetuating the cycle of poverty and inequality.
